At the time of Claveria’s Decree, the Alpabetikong Katalogo ng mga Apelyido or Alphabetical Catalog of Surnames was used to distribute family names to the inhabitants of the Philippines. Of the 70,000 or so names in the book, a healthy percentage were of Spanish origin. The resources listed here are of use to see whether a surname is of Spanish heritage.
